Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled a new trailer showcasing Anno 1800's successor, Anno 117: Pax Romana. Initial announcements highlighted two regions: Lazio and Albion. The trailer suggests Lazio serves as an introductory area before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts peacefully, but a catastrophic event forces players to explore the challenging British Isles (Albion). Albion presents harsh weather, rebellious tribes, and its distance from Rome creates significant governance challenges.
Players govern Albion, facing these obstacles through diplomacy as well as military might. Respecting local customs is key to success. A unique feature is ship customization, allowing players to prioritize speed with oarsmen or firepower with archery turrets.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
