Can You Get the Staff of Ice from the Mystery Box on The Tomb?
While the Staff of Ice, like its Black Ops II counterpart, requires three parts to craft, you can, through sheer luck, find it in The Tomb's Mystery Box. The odds are significantly improved by using the "Wunderbar!" GobbleGum, but it's not guaranteed, as the Ray Gun is also a possibility. For a reliable method, follow the crafting steps below.

Obtaining the Staff of Ice Monocle
The first component, the Monocle, drops from the first Shock Mimic you eliminate in a match. Simply interact with it to add it to your inventory.
Obtaining the Staff of Ice Head Piece
The Head Piece and Staff components require solving similar puzzles and surviving lockdowns. These can be acquired in any order.
To obtain the Head Piece, locate the cave painting in the Neolithic Catacombs. You'll need to illuminate the wall using the Dark Aether lanterns. Shoot a lantern; its fire will respawn elsewhere after a short time. Repeat until the lantern closest to the painting is lit, revealing Roman numerals on the wall. Shoot these numerals in ascending order (I to X). A correctly solved puzzle triggers a lockdown. Survive the onslaught, and the Head Piece will appear on the wall. If lanterns aren't spawning, visit the Dark Aether Nexus and return.
Obtaining the Staff of Ice Staff Piece
For the Staff piece, go to the Tombs room and illuminate the Bull Mural (facing left) using the same lantern method. Shoot the revealed Roman numerals in ascending order (I to VIII). Survive the subsequent lockdown to claim your reward.
Completing the Staff of Ice
Once you have all three parts, head to the Dark Aether Nexus (after opening the Door to Nowhere, if necessary). Place the components on the central structure. A wave of enemies will attack; defend the Staff until it's assembled.
Congratulations! You now possess the Staff of Ice.
