Forget relegating LEGO creations to shelves or struggling for space. This bouquet, and other Botanical Collection sets, are designed to be displayed on window sills, as centerpieces, or even hung on the wall.
The Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet is cleverly divided into six numbered bags, plus a seventh bag containing long stems. There are no stickers or printed tiles, only beautifully designed bricks and a clear instruction booklet. LEGO also provides digital instructions online, allowing you to rotate and zoom in for a more accessible building experience.

Each bag builds a different flower: daisies, cornflowers, eucalyptus, elderflowers, roses, ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, a waterlily dahlia, and a campanula. The instruction booklet includes charming descriptions of each flower (English, French, and Spanish), adding an educational element to the build. For example, the Cymbidium orchid description reads:
"Cymbidium orchids are documented in records from Confucius' time, around 500 BCE, making them the oldest known cultivated orchid species."

And the Waterlily Dahlia:
"Symbols of elegance and grace, the decorative waterlily dahlia blossoms unfold like a luxurious firework display."

Unlike traditional LEGO sets relying on interlocking tubes, the flowers are primarily built using hinges. This allows for the creation of delicate, petal-like structures. The building process involves layering and angling petals, a technique I found both challenging and rewarding.

Precision is key. Incorrect petal placement can lead to cascading errors requiring backtracking. The orientation of each petal is as crucial as its spacing.
Unlike typical LEGO builds with foundational structures, the Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet is entirely aesthetic. This lack of underlying support structure makes the finished piece quite fragile. It's a display piece, not a toy, and its delicate beauty is a testament to LEGO's innovative design.

This impracticality, however, is its charm. The resulting beauty is well worth the effort.
LEGO Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet, Set #10342, retails for $59.99 and contains 749 pieces. Available now at Amazon and the LEGO Store.
