Valve's back from their New Year break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is a surprisingly small one. While a major update was anticipated following the shift away from bi-weekly releases, this patch focuses solely on balance adjustments.
The changes primarily affect Yamato, with nerfs to Shadow Transformation's damage scaling and attack speed bonus. Further adjustments weaken Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, while Alchemical Fire receives a minor rework.

A larger, more comprehensive patch is expected in the future, though the timing remains uncertain. Deadlock's player count has recently seen a decrease, possibly due to the popularity of competing titles like Marvel Rivals. However, with 7,000-19,000 concurrent players during its beta phase, the game maintains a respectable player base. Valve has yet to reveal release plans or monetization details.
