April is shaping up to be an exhilarating month for *Marvel Contest of Champions* fans, with the introduction of the new champion, Spider-Woman, and a host of other exciting updates. Let's delve into the details.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Jessica Drew, known as Spider-Woman, was exposed to uranium as a child, leading to severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a prolonged recovery, Jessica not only overcame the negative effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. You can add this thrilling new champion to your roster starting April 17th.
But before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, another champion, Lumatrix, will debut on April 9th. As one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for infiltration and assassination, utilizing dazzling light-based powers.
What Else Is New?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina gravely injured after a clash with Ouroborus's forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of the Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the fray.
Starting April 9th and running through May 7th, the new Event Quest, "Spy Games," will see Black Widow investigating the enigmatic Eidols, with Spider-Woman joining her to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix makes a return in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.
The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" is also making a comeback. Assemble your most powerful Saga champions to battle through and earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
