In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, securing resources like Sharp Fangs can be crucial for crafting and enhancing your gear. This guide will help you efficiently locate and farm Sharp Fangs, which are vital early in your adventure.
How to Get Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sharp Fangs are an essential crafting resource you can start collecting early in *Monster Hunter Wilds* by exploring the Windward Plains. These fangs are used to forge beginner-tier gear sets such as Chatacabra and Talioth armor. To find Sharp Fangs, embark on optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding," which will lead you to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. It's wise to prepare by cooking and eating a meal before you set out.
Gaijos
Gaijos are small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with distinctive snouts, typically found near or in riverbeds in the Windward Plains. You can locate them using the interactive map's purple diamonds near water sources. Head to Area 8, where these creatures often wander alone, and use your equipped weapon to quickly defeat them due to their low health. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are a reliable source for Sharp Fangs, with approximately four to five available in the Windward Plains upon each spawn. To farm more, simply restart any Windward Plains optional quest.
Talioth
Talioth, another small monster in the Windward Plains, can also drop Sharp Fangs, though not as reliably as Gaijos. These bipedal creatures roam in packs in Areas 8 and 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they can still be managed with starter weapons. Carving Talioth carcasses might yield other items like Talioth Scales, but you stand a chance of getting Sharp Fangs as well. Additionally, tackling Talioths can help you complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
