Early in the game, your resources are limited, making Ilora's aid crucial for easier progression. Furthermore, saving her simplifies the "Escape Plan" side quest considerably.
How to Free Ilora
Ilora reveals the key to her cell is located in the Warden's Room. Access this room by climbing crates, crossing to another platform, and entering a passageway. Break through boards to reach the room; the key is near the door. Note: Even if you choose not to free Ilora, use the key to unlock the adjacent cell and obtain the Deerskin Gloves.
Leaving Ilora: The Consequences
Choosing to leave Ilora will make Fort Northreach considerably more difficult. The "Escape Plan" quest will also prove more challenging. Ironically, Ilora won't remain imprisoned; you'll instead have to fight her, further complicating your escape. However, this path does offer the chance to loot her corpse after defeating her.
