Gran Turismo and Forza's main competitor Assetto Corsa EVO is released today

Get ready, racing fans! Kunos Simulazioni Studios is bringing Assetto Corsa EVO to Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025, marking a significant day for car simulation enthusiasts.

The initial release will feature a robust selection of 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and incredibly realistic car behavior.

A standout feature will be the free-roam mode, offering unparalleled freedom. A major summer 2025 update promises a game-changer: a fully laser-scanned open world encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads, spanning a massive 1600 square kilometers, with ongoing expansion planned.

Assetto Corsa EVO aims to redefine the car simulation genre, challenging established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport with its photorealistic visuals and advanced physics engine. The full launch version is projected to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with further additions via free updates. Expect highly accurate track recreations, including dynamic tire wear, wet track conditions, and animated spectators for an immersive experience.

The developers have significantly enhanced vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. Early Access will include the Driving Academy mode, featuring time trials on the included tracks. Mastering this mode will earn you a license, unlocking access to the game's most coveted vehicles.
