Choosing the right character build at the beginning of *Avowed* can be tricky. You might start off thinking you'll enjoy playing as a full-fledged wizard, only to find yourself struggling in battles. That's where respeccing becomes invaluable. It allows you to shift your character's focus, perhaps from a pure mage to a versatile spellsword, as I did. Later on, you might want to respec again to fine-tune your build for maximum effectiveness in combat, helping you achieve the perfect setup for your dream character.

To respec your abilities in *Avowed*, head into the menu and select the “Abilities” section. At the bottom, you'll find an option to “Reset Points.” The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you progress in the game. Simply press the button, confirm your decision, and pay the listed price. This action will reset all your ability points across all skill trees, with the exception of the “Godlike” abilities, which are locked and can only be acquired through specific in-game choices.

If you're satisfied with your abilities but not with your attributes, or if you're looking to overhaul everything at once, you can respec your attribute points as well. Navigate to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, beneath the attribute names, you'll see a button with an associated cost. Like with abilities, the initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, and it will increase over time. Press the button, pay the cost, and enjoy your newly recovered Attribute points.

Want to tweak your companion's abilities in *Avowed*? Go to the menu and enter the “Abilities” section, then switch to the “Companions” tab. Under your companion's name, you'll find an icon that allows you to exchange a specific amount of Copper Skeyt to respec. Click the button, confirm your choice, and you'll regain all of your companion's points. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.

And that's everything you need to know about respeccing in *Avowed*. With these steps, you can experiment and fine-tune your character and companions to create the ultimate gaming experience.
