Hearthstone's upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st, boasts a record-breaking 49 new cards. This expansion, a crossover with Blizzard's StarCraft universe, introduces class and multi-class cards themed around the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions.
The Mini-Set's card distribution includes three cards per Hearthstone class, five faction-specific cards per StarCraft race (including one Legendary card per race), and a single neutral Legendary card, Grunty. The Zerg cards, playable by Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, emphasize swarming Zerglings and Hydralisk damage scaling. Protoss cards, for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, focus on mana manipulation to deploy powerful units like the Carrier. Terran cards, available to Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior, leverage the Starship mechanic introduced in The Great Dark Beyond, featuring new Starship Pieces and strategies.
Acquiring the complete Mini-Set costs $20 or 2500 gold, a slight increase over previous Mini-Sets. A golden version is available for $80 or 12,000 gold. Alternatively, individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) can be purchased for $10 or 1200 gold each.
To celebrate the launch, Blizzard is hosting two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing Hearthstone community creators. Viewers can earn four packs (two standard, two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs) by watching these Twitch streams.
