Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered enhances the thrilling action gameplay while also providing extensive options for weapon and outfit customization. You can craft an outfit perfect for stealthy encounters with machines, while another might be tailored for effective melee or ranged combat.
There are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible within certain constraints. The following guide will walk you through how to achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the ability to use the effects of two outfits, you must play the Remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. This feature is exclusive to the remastered edition, thanks to a recent patch that introduced the transmog feature. This allows you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another, ensuring you no longer have to compromise on style for functionality.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits, certain conditions must be met. The method described here isn't compatible with all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusively found in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, meaning you can't start using this method right from the beginning of the game. Thankfully, access to the DLC doesn't require completing the base game.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant, marked by a blue Merchant icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
To obtain the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this challenging mission, or reduce the difficulty to Story mode for a quicker completion and outfit unlock.
The process for acquiring the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. You don't need to explore further into the Frozen Wilds content unless you choose to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Begin by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you desire. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't enhance stats, they do provide automatic healing after sustaining damage for a period.
This technique allows you to retain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you'll be nearly invincible, taking minimal damage, and when you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will swiftly activate.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing perk activates much quicker than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so opt for these if available.
