Following a surprise reveal during the February PlayStation State of Play, a new trailer confirmed that the Open Alpha Test for Splitgate 2 will commence on February 27, 2025, for both console and PC players. The test will conclude on March 2, giving you five days to dive into the action.

As the name suggests, this Alpha Test is open to all, but you'll need to wait until February 27 to participate. Here's what you need to do:

What to Expect in Splitgate 2’s Open Alpha Test
According to Nate Dern, Lead Writer at 1047 Games, in an interview with the PlayStation Blog, the Open Alpha will feature crossplay and introduce players to a new 24-player mode called Multi-Team Portal Warfare. In this mode, three teams of eight will battle it out on Splitgate’s largest map to date, allowing players to test new weapons, perks, and equipment amidst the game’s signature fast-paced action.
The original Splitgate was loved for its innovative portal mechanics, enabling players to pull off incredible outplays and trickshots by navigating through rifts. Splitgate 2 will continue to build on this core mechanic, introducing new classes or factions with unique abilities. Feedback from both internal testing and previous Alpha participants has been instrumental in shaping the game, aiming to set a new standard in the FPS genre.
