KEMCO's latest Android release, Novel Rogue, is a captivating pixel-art fantasy JRPG with roguelite elements and card deck-building mechanics. This enchanting adventure plunges players into the magical worlds contained within four ancient books.
Players assume the role of Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright's journey involves delving into each book, each transporting him to a unique realm: one features a princess knight reclaiming a fallen kingdom, while another unveils the mysteries of the underworld. The dynamic nature of the game ensures each playthrough offers a distinct experience.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Novel Rogue's core gameplay revolves around a turn-based card battle system, uniquely adapted to each of the four magical worlds. After each battle, players choose from three new cards to refine their deck, crafting the ultimate strategy.
Strategic depth is enhanced by features like the "Change" command, allowing players to redistribute damage among allies, and "Novel Power," which empowers decks using ink. For a challenging experience, "Deep Record" mode significantly increases dungeon difficulty.
Relationship building is also a key element. Collecting and gifting treasures strengthens bonds with characters, potentially unlocking special endings. Aesthetic customization is provided through "Witch Stones," allowing players to alter character costumes.
Novel Rogue is available now on the Google Play Store as a free-to-play title. A premium version offers 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional perks, including an ad-free experience.
