Get ready for gigantic Pokémon battles! Pokémon GO has officially confirmed the arrival of Dynamax Pokémon in its upcoming Max Out season. This exciting addition brings a whole new level of gameplay, alongside special events and rewards.
Max Out Season: September 10th - September 15th
The Max Out season kicks off September 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs until September 15th at 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for a week of colossal encounters!
Dynamax Pokémon Debut!
The season's launch introduces Dynamax versions of classic Pokémon in 1-star Max Battles:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Skwovet
- Wooloo
Catch these Dynamax Pokémon (and their evolved forms!) and even encounter Shiny variations.
Beyond the battles, expect special Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases offering event-themed rewards.
Special Research and Max Particles
A new Seasonal Special Research story arrives September 3rd (10:00 a.m. local time) and lasts until December 3rd (9:59 a.m. local time). Complete Max Battle-focused tasks to earn Max Particles, a new avatar item, and more!
Max Particle Pack and Power Spots
A Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available on the Pokémon GO web store for $7.99, starting September 8th at 6:00 p.m. PDT. These particles are crucial for Dynamax battles.
Rumors also point to the introduction of Power Spots next month, acting as key locations for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon captures, and Max Particle collection.
Mega Evolution and Gigantamax Possibilities
Pokémon GO senior producer, John Funtanilla, hinted at the possibility of some Dynamax Pokémon also being capable of Mega Evolution. While there's no confirmation yet on Gigantamax Pokémon, Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon. The possibility was teased at this year's Pokémon Worlds.
