Niantic has unveiled the exciting details for Pokémon GO Fest 2025, along with two additional January events. Let's dive into the upcoming festivities!
Pokémon GO Fest 2025: A Global Celebration
The Pokémon GO Fest 2025 will be a three-day extravaganza taking place in three global cities across June 2025:
- Osaka, Japan: May 29th - June 1st
- Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6th - June 8th
- Paris, France: June 13th - June 15th

This annual event offers exclusive items, unique gameplay, and fantastic bonuses for trainers worldwide. In-person events provide a unique city-specific experience, requiring ticket purchase for both in-person and online participation.
Rare Pokémon and Shiny Encounters
A key attraction is the appearance of rare Pokémon unattainable through standard gameplay. Past events have featured legendary Pokémon like Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Expect similar excitement in 2025! Shiny Pokémon will also have increased appearance rates, varying by location within each host city.
In-Person Event Exclusives
In-person attendees can look forward to exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed item sets, community hubs, and team lounges for socializing with fellow trainers.
Two More January Events!
Beyond Pokémon GO Fest, Niantic announced two more exciting events for January 2025:
Fashion Week: Taken Over: (January 15th, 12:00 pm - January 19th, 8:00 pm local time)
- Rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni.
- Debut of Shroodle and Grafaiai from 12km Eggs.
- Appearances of Shadow Snivy, Tepig, and other Shadow Pokémon.
- Chance to encounter a fashionably dressed Croagunk via snapshots.
Shadow Raid Day: Shadow Ho-Oh: (January 19th, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm local time)
- Five-Star Shadow Raids featuring Shadow Ho-Oh.
- $5 USD ticket grants eight additional Raid Passes, increased Rare Candy XL chances, 2x Stardust, and 50% more XP from Raids.
- Increased Shiny Ho-Oh encounter rate.
- Opportunity to teach Ho-Oh its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
