Respawn Cancels Unannounced Multiplayer Shooter Set in the Titanfall Universe

A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been cancelled this week after several years in development. No official reason for the cancellation has been given.

Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry, ruling out Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists to develop it.

This isn't the first Respawn project to be cancelled. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was shut down last year.

The Titanfall series is renowned for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as agile pilots or control powerful Titans. Since its debut in 2014, the franchise has cultivated a strong following thanks to its innovative gameplay combining parkour and dynamic team battles.

Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the third installment in the Jedi series, and a new Star Wars strategy game developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
