Revamped Revue: Starlight Re LIVE Ends Collection, Embraces EOS

Revue Starlight Re LIVE, the mobile game based on the popular anime, is officially shutting down. The game's servers will cease operation on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.

The announcement, while unfortunate for fans, isn't entirely unexpected. Over its lifespan, the game struggled with player retention, exhibiting signs of stagnation including repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Narrative choices, such as the abrupt shift in storyline, also contributed to the game's decline. This closure affects global players, including those in Japan.

Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE offered some positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, was a highlight, as were the high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations.

For players wishing to experience the game before its closure, there's still time. Developers are launching several farewell events in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily and a two-month birthday celebration with new character gacha events. Download the game from the Google Play Store before it's gone. Meanwhile, explore other gaming news, such as the arrival of The Dragon Prince: Xadia on Android via Netflix.
