The next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie has been pushed back a week, and it's likely for a good reason. Sony's updated release calendar shows the fourth Spider-Man film now hitting theaters on July 31st, 2026, instead of the previously announced July 24th. This shift gives it more breathing room from Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
The delay creates a two-week gap between The Odyssey and the new Spider-Man movie, providing a better release window for both films, especially considering their potential IMAX releases—a preference of Christopher Nolan's. This is beneficial, as both films star Tom Holland.
Marvel has confirmed a fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland, slated for release after Avengers: Doomsday on May 1st, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) will direct, taking over from his previous commitment to the next Avengers film. Storyline changes related to the Kang character led to this shift, with the Russo Brothers now directing Avengers: Doomsday and Robert Downey Jr. surprisingly cast as Doctor Doom.
