Voltorb & Hisuian Voltorb Spotlight Hour

Mark your calendars! The Spotlight Hour runs from 6 PM to 7 PM Local Time on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. This week's stars are Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, offering a double dose of shiny hunting opportunities. Both Pokémon are valuable additions to any team, packing a punch when extra damage is needed.

With two Pokémon in the spotlight, prepare for a busy hour! Stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense to maximize your chances of catching both and securing shinies. Also, clear some space in your Pokémon storage – you'll be catching a lot!

Voltorb (#100, Kanto Region): This Electric-type Pokémon evolves into Electrode using 50 candies. Catching Voltorb rewards 3 candies and 100 Stardust. It boasts a max CP of 1141, with 109 Attack and 111 Defense. While powerful, remember its Electric-type weakness to Ground-type moves (160% damage) and resistance to Electric, Flying, and Steel-type moves (63% damage). The optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge, delivering 5.81 DPS and 40.62 TDO. Rainy weather boosts its attack. A blue shiny variant awaits!

Hisuian Voltorb (#100, Kanto Region): Another Electric-type, Hisuian Voltorb also evolves into Hisuian Electrode with 50 candies, offering the same catch rewards as Voltorb. Stats are identical to Voltorb (1141 CP, 111 Defense, 109 Attack). However, its type matchups differ slightly. It takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves (160% damage), while resisting Grass, Steel, and Water-type moves (63% damage) and other Electric-type moves (39% damage). The best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt, providing 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO. Partly cloudy and rainy weather enhance its damage output. A black shiny version is available.
