Ted Lasso Season 4 on the Way, Jason Sudeikis Confirms

by Owen Mar 17,2025

Jason Sudeikis, star and producer of Ted Lasso, has officially confirmed that Season 4 is in development. During an appearance on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Sudeikis revealed the exciting news, stating, "That’s what we’re writing. We’re writing Season 4 now… Ted’s coaching a women’s team.” This announcement, highlighted in a [snippet from the show’s latest episode](link to snippet), provides much-needed clarity after nearly two years of speculation.

This is the first concrete update on the future of the beloved Apple TV+ series since Season 3 concluded in summer 2023. While details remain scarce, the confirmation itself is a welcome relief for fans. The announcement tweet from New Heights:

Although Sudeikis remained tight-lipped about specifics, including whether Season 4 will be the final season or Ted Lasso's next location, even dodging Travis Kelce's question about a potential return to the U.S., he did confirm that the show is moving forward.

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Juno Temple (Keeley) is in negotiations to reprise her role, joining Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie), who are all set to return. Deadline sources suggest filming for Episode 1 will likely take place in Kansas City before the action shifts back to the UK, with production aiming to begin in July.

Apple TV+ is also actively re-engaging fans. While a release date and plot details remain under wraps, the show's official X/Twitter account has playfully acknowledged its extended hiatus with a recent post:

Finally found the dang password to this thing.

Sorry y’all. What’d I miss?
