A dedicated fan base continues to enhance the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas experience, creating their own remasters to address shortcomings in the official version. Shapatar XT's remaster, incorporating 51 modifications, stands out as a significant example.

The improvements extend beyond simple graphical enhancements. Shapatar XT tackled the infamous "flying trees" issue by optimizing map loading, providing players with earlier visibility of obstacles. The game's vegetation also received a visual overhaul.

Several mods enrich the game world's dynamism and detail. The environment is now littered with realistic debris, NPCs engage in more varied activities (like car repairs), and the airport features the spectacle of taking-off planes. Furthermore, signage, graffiti, and other environmental details boast improved textures and quality.

Gameplay mechanics have also been refined. A new over-the-shoulder camera angle has been implemented, along with realistic weapon recoil, revamped weapon sounds, and the ability to create bullet holes. CJ's arsenal features updated weapon models, and he can now freely fire in all directions while driving.

First-person perspective is now available, complete with detailed vehicle interiors (showing the steering wheel) and realistic weapon handling animations.

A comprehensive car mod pack, including a Toyota Supra, adds a new fleet of vehicles with improved details such as functioning headlights, taillights, and animated engines.

Numerous quality-of-life improvements have been added. The in-game shopping experience is streamlined, eliminating lengthy animation sequences for clothing changes. CJ can now instantly change outfits, and his character model has been updated.
