How to Play Okey Game
The offline Okey game typically accommodates 4 players. Each player uses a cue stick to organize their tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. The game includes two fake Okey tiles among the total of 106 tiles.
At the start, tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups of pairs or series. Undistributed tiles are placed in the center of the table, with one open tile serving as the indicator stone. The tile matching the indicator stone in color and number becomes the Okey stone, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Completing the game with an Okey stone doubles the points earned.
Normal tile arrangement involves creating at least three pairs, either in a series of the same color or with the same number across different colors. For pair formation, players aim to arrange all tiles into pairs, ending the game when they have seven pairs by discarding the last tile to the center.
The indicator rule states that at the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey-colored tile, 2 points are deducted from other players; otherwise, no points are deducted.
The game concludes based on the final tile played. A normal finish results in a 2-point deduction from other players if the tile is not Okey-colored, or 4 points if it is. Completing the game with seven pairs also results in a 4-point deduction. Achieving a color finish, where all tiles are of the same color and in order from 1 to 13, sets other players' scores to zero. If tiles are of the same color but not in order, an 8-point deduction is applied.
