The Peak hunters application contains a gradually expanding database of peaks from the Czech Republic and some neighboring countries. Thanks to GPS in your mobile phone, you can record your ascent to the top and get a point rating for it, which is proportional to the mountain altitude and the difficulty of the ascent. You can add your own ratings and photos to each peak you visit.
The application shows all peaks clearly on the map. It is possible to filter them according to your country, mountains or distance from your current location. You can download offline map data, because the signal may be weak in the mountains. The maps are based on OpenStreetMaps and also show tourist routes. If you miss a peak or plan to go to a hill that is not in the database, you can send it to the database by long touching it on the map. Once the top is approved, you will see it among others and at the same time you will get bonus points for adding it.
Top Hunters contain an expanding set of statistics and collectible badges. Collected badges You remain, for rare badges you will receive congratulations. For each peak you can view the current weather forecast, for possible trip planning with a view up to 48 hours in advance.
Another useful feature of the application is the ability to recognize the mountain top by simply turning the phone towards the top with the distance filter set correctly. You can also use the application in completely anonymous mode. In incognito mode, the application works the same, but it is not possible to transfer the profile to other devices, log out, and restore the profile if the device is lost or data is damaged. We therefore recommend that you try the application in incognito mode and then convert it to a registered profile.
The application contains no advertising or fees. She was born out of the enthusiasm of a tourist looking for an app to collect peaks on their travels with the option to download an offline map. It is now possible to manually switch between dark and light mode. This setting can be changed on the user profile screen. If you find an error, you are missing something in the application, or you have another comment, you can write to us directly via the form in the application. We appreciate any feedback.
There is no website attached to the project. The application is fully functional on its own and no website is required.
