I will play as Grandma. She's got a keen eye and a sharp wit, and no prisoner is getting past her!

Grandma's Diary: The Great Escape Attempt

Oh, what a day it's been! That pesky prisoner thought they could outsmart me, but I've been around the block a few times, and I know a thing or two about keeping folks in line.

It all started this morning when I was baking my famous apple pie. I heard a rustle from the basement, and I knew right away what was up. That prisoner was trying to make a break for it! I quickly finished up my pie, set it on the windowsill to cool, and made my way downstairs.

There he was, fiddling with the lock on the basement door. I cleared my throat, and he froze like a deer in headlights. "Now, now, dearie," I said, "you're not going anywhere without a slice of my pie first."

He looked at me, unsure of what to do next. I could see the gears turning in his head, but I wasn't about to let him think too long. I grabbed my trusty knitting needles and started knitting right there in front of him. "Sit down, young man," I said, pointing to a chair. "We're going to have a nice chat while I finish this scarf."

He sat down, probably thinking he could make a run for it when I wasn't looking. But I've got eyes in the back of my head, and I kept him talking about his life, his family, anything to keep him distracted. Before he knew it, I had finished the scarf and tied it around his wrists, nice and snug.

"Now, let's go upstairs and have that pie," I said, leading him back to the kitchen. He didn't dare try anything funny with my knitting needles still in hand. We sat down, and I served him a big slice of pie. "You know, dearie, it's much better to stay and enjoy the good things in life than to run off and cause trouble."

He nodded, mouth full of pie, and I could see the fight go out of him. I called the authorities, and they came to take him back to his cell. As they led him away, he turned to me and said, "Thanks for the pie, Grandma. And the scarf."

I smiled and waved. "You're welcome, dearie. And remember, there's no escaping Grandma's house!"

And that's how I kept the prisoner from escaping. It's all about keeping your wits about you and knowing how to use a good pie and a bit of knitting to your advantage!
