First Bird Pokémon Arrives in Pokémon GO at Catch Mastery Event

If you're a Pokémon GO player, get ready for some exciting events coming your way, including the Catch Mastery event, which is part of the larger Might and Mastery event. Alongside this, you can also enjoy the ongoing Festival of Colors.

Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!

Mark your calendars for March 16th, as the Catch Mastery event kicks off from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event centers around Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. During the event, you'll see increased spawns of Omanyte and Kabuto, with the exciting possibility of encountering their Shiny forms.

Archen itself will be available as a reward for completing Field Research, and there's a boosted chance of encountering its Shiny version. To sweeten the deal, you'll earn double XP for Nice Throws or better, and also for Curveball Throws, helping you level up faster.

Additionally, the event features Timed Research focused on catching Rock-type Pokémon. If you're up for the challenge, you can complete up to 10 sets of tasks, leading to a total of 40 encounters with Archen.

The Mega Absol Raid Day Is Also Happening Soon

Don't miss the Mega Absol Raid Day on March 23rd, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This event introduces a new Charged Attack for Absol called Brutal Swing. Once the event begins, Absol will have permanent access to this move, which delivers 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.

Leading up to the event, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will increase to 20. Plus, you can collect up to five additional free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, giving you a total of six passes for the day.

If you haven't yet, be sure to download Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store.
