Here's the step-by-step process for acquiring the Gold Armor Vest:
- Locate two statue heads within the Dark Aether Nexus. These are hidden inside destructible wooden boxes (use melee attacks to break them open).
- Place the statue heads on the ruined statues in the Dig Site area.
- Complete two "Blood Sacrifices" (explained below).
- Purchase the Gold Armor Vest from the Roman Mausoleum (it will be a free Wall Buy after completing the sacrifices).
Where To Find the Statue Heads in The Tomb
The statue heads are located within the Dark Aether Nexus, inside wooden boxes. One box is near a palm tree in a corner of the Nexus (closest to the green Gateway portal). The second is easily found near the Juggernog Perk Machine, on the same raised platform.
How To Use the Statue Heads
Once you have both heads, go to the Dig Site. There are two ruined Roman statues; one near the Ammo Cache and the other near the Roman Mausoleum (Pack-a-Punch area). Interact with each statue to place a head on it.
How To Survive the Blood Sacrifice
Activating a statue triggers a Blood Sacrifice, spawning multiple high-value target (HVT) versions of Shock Mimics and Doppelghasts. You're locked at 1 HP during this challenge, but damage goes to your armor. Use a Tier 3 vest and plenty of plates beforehand. The challenge doesn't despawn existing enemies, so it's best done at the end of a round.
Solo Strategy: Equip a Mutant Injection. Time its activation to transform into a Mangler as the sacrifice begins. Melee the HVTs.
Co-op Strategy: One player activates the sacrifice, while another uses a Chopper Gunner from outside the Dig Site to eliminate the HVTs.
After completing both Blood Sacrifices, the Gold Armor Vest becomes a free Wall Buy in the Roman Mausoleum.
