The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" achievement is deceptively simple yet surprisingly difficult to find. Its obscurity makes it easily missed. To unlock it, you must capture the Sandstar, a tiny endemic life form found only in the Windward Plains at night. This small, desert mouse-like creature with shimmering fur is remarkably fast.

Since the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day, you'll need to advance time to nightfall. There are two methods:

  • Fast Travel: Once you've unlocked multiple fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly fast travel between them. This will advance the in-game time until nightfall.
  • Rest: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select "Nighttime" as the time of day.

Catching the Sandstar requires speed and strategy. Even at full sprint on your Seikret, it's quick. Consider using Screamer Pods, obtainable from Baunos (small winged monsters found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains). These pods stun the Sandstar, giving you a better chance to capture it.

Once it's night, locate the Sandstar between Areas 11 and 13. Use Screamer Pods to stun it, then quickly switch to your Capture Net (used for fishing) to secure your prize. The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock, rewarding you with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate.
