The Rune Giant is Clash Royale's newest Epic card, unlocked in the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available via a limited-time shop offer (until January 17th, 2025). After this date, it can only be obtained from chests or the shop.
This guide explores the Rune Giant's strategic applications and presents effective deck builds.
Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview
The Rune Giant is an Epic card targeting enemy Towers and defensive structures. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings – more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.
Its key feature is its Enchant effect: upon deployment, it enhances two nearby troops, boosting their damage output every third hit. This buffing capability makes it exceptionally potent in specific card combinations.
Costing only four elixirs, it's easily cycled without excessive elixir depletion. Fast-attacking troops like Dart Goblins maximize its effect, while slower units can still benefit with strategic timing.
The following video demonstrates a Hunter, empowered by the Rune Giant's Enchant, eliminating a Lava Hound before it reaches the Tower:

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant lacks the Hitpoints to serve solely as a win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower damage while your other units attack.
Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale
These Clash Royale decks effectively utilize the Rune Giant:
- Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
- Battle Ram 3M
- Hog EQ Firecracker
Details on each deck follow.
Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
While the Goblin Giant Sparky deck remains viable, this variant incorporates the Cannon Cart.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
This beatdown deck offers robust defense against various attack strategies. The Rune Giant buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including the Spear Goblins), maximizing damage output. The Elixir Collector ensures elixir advantage, while the Lumberjack and Rage provide additional offensive boosts. However, its lack of air defense makes it vulnerable to Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.
Battle Ram 3M
This deck reimagines the Three Musketeers, playing similarly to Pekka Bridge Spam.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
Early-game pressure is maintained using the Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram. The Elixir Collector builds an elixir advantage for the Double Elixir phase. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed. Defense relies on the Rune Giant and Hunter combo, with the Evo Zap supporting Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Hog EQ Firecracker
This is a top-tier Hog Rider deck enhanced by the Rune Giant.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
Gameplay mirrors the standard Hog EQ Firecracker, but the Rune Giant replaces the Valkyrie or Mighty Miner. The Rune Giant's Enchant significantly boosts the Firecracker's damage. The Earthquake provides late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons handle defense. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
The Rune Giant introduces new strategic depth to Clash Royale. Its unique buffing mechanic encourages experimentation with diverse card combinations. These decks serve as starting points; personalize them to match your playstyle.
