Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss Announced by Creators of The Council

Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and The Council, has unveiled its latest project: Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. The announcement was accompanied by a stunning CG trailer introducing Noah, the protagonist battling encroaching madness, the submerged city of R'lyeh, and the terrifying Great Old One, Cthulhu himself.

The year is 2053. Deep-sea mining corporations inadvertently awaken a cosmic horror of unimaginable power. Players assume the role of Noah, an agent with Interpol's secretive Occult Affairs division, investigating the mysterious disappearance of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Aided by Key, his AI companion, players will delve into the secrets of the sunken city of R'lyeh, solve challenging puzzles, and fight to preserve their sanity against Cthulhu's insidious influence.

Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game promises breathtaking, reality-bending environments that will immerse players in a truly haunting atmosphere. The recently released trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse into the tense and thrilling experience awaiting players. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
