This exciting mobile RPG, developed by Danganronpa alumni, is set in a dystopian Neo-Tokyo in the year 20XX. Players take on the role of teenagers competing in the perilous Extreme Games, orchestrated by the enigmatic Zero.
Tribe Nine blends the signature stylistic elements of Komatsuzaki and Kodaka's previous collaborations: a retro-inspired overworld presented in sprite art seamlessly transitions into full 3D battles. Players can experiment with equipment and utilize Tension Cards to create unique character builds.
Will Tribe Nine Hit a Grand Slam?
While Danganronpa's popularity may have waned somewhat, its innovative blend of striking visuals and murder-mystery gameplay remains memorable. Tribe Nine certainly boasts a unique aesthetic, but the saturated mobile 3D turn-based battle market presents a significant challenge. The game will need a compelling hook to differentiate itself from the competition.
