Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, offering diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay focus.
While the Delta Force franchise might be unfamiliar to some, it's a cornerstone of FPS gaming, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite special forces unit, the game emphasizes realistic shooter mechanics, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the series. Expect large-scale battles in Warfare mode (reminiscent of Battlefield), extraction-focused gameplay in Operations mode, and a captivating single-player campaign based on the Battle of Mogadishu (drawing inspiration from the film Black Hawk Down).
Addressing the Cheating Issue
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, while aiming to eliminate cheating, have drawn criticism for their intensity. While the dedicated G.T.I. Security team is actively working to address this, the stringent PC release restrictions have been met with negative feedback.
Although the mobile platform may present fewer cheating challenges, the PC controversy might still impact player interest. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience could still lead to a successful launch.
