Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG blending Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024. The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining playtime before the servers are deactivated.
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players a chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam encourages remaining players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement, the game fell short of expectations. A lengthy early access period, infrequent content updates, and a resource-intensive progression system hampered player engagement and retention. The demanding shard collection system, in particular, required significant in-game spending to fully optimize characters.
The EOS announcement is particularly surprising, given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first abrupt game shutdown; they previously ended support for Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
The unexpected closure of Disney Mirrorverse, despite impressive character designs and graphics, leaves many fans disappointed. Share your thoughts on this news in the comments below, and be sure to check out our latest article on Zombies in Conflict of Nations: World War 3 Season 15!
