Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Determined to Prove Critics Wrong

Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix's Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has sparked speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Danny Rand in the Netflix series Iron Fist and The Defenders, recently expressed his eagerness to reprise his role, stating, "I’m here and I’m ready."

Jones last appeared as Iron Fist in 2018, in the second season of Iron Fist and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. Despite the character's lukewarm reception among fans, the integration of the Netflix shows into the MCU canon, highlighted by Cox's return in Daredevil: Born Again, has fueled hopes for a revival of The Defenders.

At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism he received for his portrayal of Iron Fist. He acknowledged the fans' mixed feelings about his return, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it." He passionately urged fans and Marvel to give him another chance, declaring, "Give me a f***ing chance, man. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

The revival of the Netflix Marvel universe within the MCU, now available on Disney+, has also seen Jon Bernthal's Punisher return in Daredevil: Born Again, further solidifying the integration of these characters into the broader Marvel universe.
