Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater's ESRB rating has unveiled the return of the Peep Demo Theater, along with enhancements to the game's camouflage system. Dive deeper to understand what these features entail and how they impact gameplay.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Returning and Improved Features
Peep Demo Theater Returns
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) has been rated M for Mature by the ESRB, confirming the return of a controversial feature from the original game—the Peep Demo Theater. This feature, which was part of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater's Subsistence and HD Collection editions, allows players to view all cutscenes featuring the female spy EVA in her underwear. Players can manipulate the camera freely, zooming in on any part of her body, but this mode is unlocked only after collecting all other cutscenes, which typically requires four playthroughs of the game.
While the Mature rating aligns with the game's themes of violence and gore, as players take on the role of an elite soldier thwarting special forces behind enemy lines, the reintroduction of the Peep Demo Theater, often referred to as "Creepy mode," has surprised many fans due to its explicit and controversial nature.
Faster Camouflage System
MGS Delta also introduces a streamlined camouflage system, as announced by METAL GEAR OFFICIAL via a Twitter (X) post on March 28. The post, accompanied by a video, showcased a new feature allowing players to change camouflage for faces, uniforms, and more in under three seconds. This is a significant improvement over the original Metal Gear Solid 3, where changing camouflage was a cumbersome process that involved pausing the game, navigating through menus, and selecting from the Camo section. This enhancement is set to enhance the game's pacing and immersion, especially during stealth sequences.
With the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater scheduled for August 26, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, fans are eagerly anticipating the blend of returning features and quality-of-life improvements that promise to elevate their gaming experience.
