Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past with Fan-Favorite Items

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, which also reintroduced the classic Cluster Clinger. The festive Winterfest event adds to the excitement with unique quests, items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and exciting new skins featuring Mariah Carey and others.

December is proving to be a busy month for Fortnite, with a flurry of new skins alongside the annual Winterfest celebration. Winterfest blankets the island in snow, offering event quests and items like Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade. Players can collect rewards from the Cozy Cabin and snag premium skins like Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday cheer, Fortnite continues its impressive collaborations, including partnerships with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja. The OG mode also receives a significant update.

A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode marks a significant return for the Launch Pad, a legacy item from Chapter 1, Season 1. Before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility enhancements, Launch Pads were the quintessential traversal tool, enabling players to quickly reposition themselves strategically or make a swift escape.

Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Gear

  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning favorite. The hotfix also brings back the Chapter 3 Hunting Rifle, providing a long-range combat option, particularly welcome given the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also make a comeback, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, just like the Hunting Rifle.

The resurgence of classic weapons and the OG mode itself has been a resounding success for Epic Games. The mode attracted 1.1 million players within its first two hours of launch. Alongside the mode, an OG Item Shop was introduced, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
