GAMM: Where Italy's Gaming History Comes Alive

Rome's newest attraction: GAMM, the city's largest video game museum, is officially open! Located in Piazza della Repubblica, this exciting new museum is the creation of Marco Accordi Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus.

Rickards, a passionate advocate for preserving video game history, describes GAMM as an immersive journey blending historical context, technological innovation, and interactive gameplay. Building upon the success of Vigamus, another Roman gaming museum that has attracted over two million visitors since 2012, GAMM occupies a spacious 700 square meters across two floors.

The museum is organized into three distinct and captivating thematic zones:

Explore the Thrilling Worlds of GAMM:

  • GAMMDOME: A dynamic digital playground featuring interactive exhibits and authentic gaming artifacts, including vintage consoles and donated memorabilia. This area adheres to the "4 E Concept": Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • Path of Arcadia (PARC): Journey back to the golden age of arcade gaming, experiencing classic titles from the late 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s.

  • Historical Playground (HIP): Delve into the mechanics and design of video games, gaining an insider's perspective on the evolution of gameplay and game development.

GAMM is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. Visit the official GAMM website for more information.
