The game, slated for a mobile release in September, has already announced exciting updates to further engage players.
These additions include a player-versus-player (PvP) mode pitting the Mayflies and Rosetta factions against each other, and a new player-versus-environment (PvE) area in a northern mountain region featuring fresh enemies and challenges. Set in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event leading to supernatural phenomena, Once Human is one of NetEase's most anticipated titles.
Interestingly, despite its successful PC launch, NetEase has decided to postpone the mobile release of Once Human, still targeting a September launch window. Despite this delay, the game maintains its strong position in Steam's top seller and most-played lists.
A Cause for Concern? The use of "peak" player count (230,000) is significant. This suggests the average player count may be lower, and a post-launch drop from the peak could be a concern for NetEase, especially considering the game's initial Steam wishlist count was over 300,000.
