Exciting news has emerged from Disneyland Paris regarding the much-anticipated The Lion King ride, which is set to begin construction in Fall 2025. As announced by Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King, and it promises to be a major highlight of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park, now to be known as Disney Adventure World. This thrilling water ride will immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the 1994 animated classic, complemented by a majestic 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
A newly released concept image showcases a vibrant jungle setting where Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa are seen enjoying a feast of grubs. This scene is just a snippet of what guests can expect from the ride, which will also feature an exhilarating 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the one found on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While the exact opening date for The Lion King ride remains undisclosed, it is slated to open following the debut of World of Frozen in 2026. This new attraction will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which aims to double the size of the current park's footprint.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will also introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another unique addition will be the first-ever attraction inspired by Up, designed as a spinning carousel that provides a breathtaking bird's eye view of the park's scenic beauty.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, is set to open on May 15, 2025, aiming to capture the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza will draw inspiration from Broadway and London's West End, hosting theaters with performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
