The iPhone 16e is officially available for preorder! Apple's latest budget-friendly offering launches February 28th, but you can secure yours now. Available in black or white, starting at $599, it's the most affordable iPhone 16 model. This guide covers everything you need to know about preordering.
Where to Buy the iPhone 16e
Available for preorder February 21
The iPhone 16e replaces the iPhone SE (last updated in 2022), offering a more standard iPhone 16 form factor and specifications, albeit at a higher price point ($599) than its predecessor ($429). It undercuts the standard iPhone 16 ($799) and the still-available iPhone 15 ($699).
iPhone 16e Specifications
The iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch (not the "Dynamic Island" of the standard iPhone 16). It utilizes the A18 chip (like the iPhone 16), but with a 4-core GPU. While potentially slightly less powerful, it supports Apple Intelligence and iOS 18 AI features. The new C1 cellular modem promises improved battery life (up to 26 hours of video playback, compared to 22 hours on the standard model).
However, it lacks MagSafe charging, though Qi wireless charging is supported. Color options are limited to black and white.
Despite these limitations, the iPhone 16e offers a compelling value proposition within the iPhone lineup.
