Japanese Switch 2 Priced Lower Than Global Version

by Andrew Apr 27,2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 will feature different pricing strategies in Japan compared to the rest of the world, catering to its diverse user base. This new gaming system will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System available worldwide. The Japanese version is set to be priced at around $330, while the Multi-Language System will cost $449.99, showcasing a significant price difference of over $100. This variance is largely due to the weaker yen, making purchases in Japan less attractive for tourists.

Residents of Japan have the option to purchase either version, but the Japanese-language system is exclusively available within Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japanese region. This version supports solely the Japanese language and is compatible only with software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

For fans outside of Japan or those who prefer a multi-lingual experience, Nintendo recommends purchasing the Multi-Language System version. More details about this version will be disclosed on April 4, ensuring fans have all the information they need before making a purchase decision.
