Dev Talk 11: Seasonal Rank Adjustments Revised
Marvel Rivals has responded to player concerns regarding its planned mid-season rank reset, detailed in Dev Talk 10. The initial plan, which would have dropped players four divisions, drew considerable criticism. Players felt the frequent resets (proposed for every 45 days) were discouraging and detrimental to climbing the ranks.
In Dev Talk 11, Marvel Rivals announced a complete reversal of the mid-season reset. Players will retain their current rank and score at the halfway point of the season. However, the end-of-season rank reset will still occur, dropping players six divisions.
Human Torch, The Thing, and Other Updates Remain
Despite the change to the mid-season reset, other updates remain on track. The highly anticipated release of Human Torch and The Thing will proceed, expanding the hero roster to 39. NetEase Games continues its plan to introduce two new playable characters per three-month season.
Rewards for players reaching Gold rank and above remain unchanged. Players who achieve Gold rank or higher before the update will receive a free Invisible Woman costume. Grandmaster and above players will receive Crests of Honor. New rewards, including another free costume and Crests of Honor (for Grandmaster and above), will be awarded at the end of the season. Balance adjustments are also planned for a post-mid-season update, though details are yet to be revealed.
