Infinity Nikki is only nine days from launch, and a new behind-the-scenes video has been released
The dress-up title turned open-world RPG is the biggest entry yet in the franchise
And this new video gives us an idea of the development of it from concept to (near) release
If there's one new release that's extremely anticipated over here at Pocket Gamer towers, it's Infinity Nikki. And can you blame us? The marketing blitz for this dress-up adventure turned open-world RPG has even the most cynical of us curious. Not to mention all the teasers, with the latest being a newly-debuted behind-the-scenes video.
With only nine days to go until launch, as of the time of writing, the Infinity Nikki behind-the-scenes video gives us an overview of this latest entry in the IP from its earliest iteration and concept right up to the most recent info. This includes the general concept, graphics, gameplay and even the music.
It's not hard to see why this video is being circulated since it's all part of Infinity Nikki's massive marketing push. The IP has been in existence for a while, of course, but this latest high-fidelity entry seems intent on pushing Nikki into the public consciousness more than ever.
To infinity and- did we do that already?Personally speaking, I think Infinity Nikki is, from a conceptual standpoint, quite interesting. While it would have been easy to expand on Nikki with some kind of high-energy combat element or other RPG features, it seems the studio behind Infinity Nikki is intent on maintaining the approachable, almost excessively cute and harmless nature of the series.
Essentially, this is more akin to Dear Esther than Monster Hunter, and it's obvious that the intent is for exploration and daily life and moments to form the core essence of what makes Infinity Nikki appealing. Suffice it to say, if you weren't curious before, this glimpse behind the curtain is sure to intrigue you.
