Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Due to High Demand
Nintendo has announced a delay in the general retail release of its Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. The launch, initially planned for February 2025, is postponed due to insufficient stock to meet unexpectedly high demand. A new release date has not yet been specified.
The company will instead offer a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, starting mid-December 2024, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately. There's currently no word on whether this delay affects international availability, with a wider release still scheduled for March 2025.
The Popular Nintendo Alarmo
Launched in October 2024, the Alarmo is a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring sounds from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, and Splatoon. Its immediate popularity led to online orders being suspended and a lottery system implemented. Physical stock quickly sold out in Japan and even at the New York Nintendo store.
Further updates on pre-orders and the general release date will be shared soon.
