How To Obtain Paradisan Ladder in Avowed
There are five primary methods for obtaining Paradisan Ladder: purchasing from Merilyn, foraging, side quest rewards, item deconstruction, and downgrading Hylea’s Talon.
Merylin the Merchant
Merilyn, located in South Paradise (see map above), offers the fastest guaranteed method. She initially sells five units at 150 coins each. Additionally, she sells two deconstructible items—the Many-Hued Doublet and the Common Grimoire of Elements—yielding two units each upon deconstruction. Note that her inventory doesn't replenish after selling out.
Foraging in the Wild & in Cities
Paradisan Ladder can be found while exploring. The plant icon on your mini-map (red circle above) indicates its presence. While other plants may resemble it, actively searching your immediate vicinity during gameplay is a reliable, free method for steadily accumulating this resource.
Side Quests
Avowed strategically integrates Paradisan Ladder into its side quests. The early quest, "Escape Plan," for example, rewards players with crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder. Completing side quests provides a steady supply while granting XP and other benefits.
Breaking Down Items
Deconstructing items yields base crafting materials, but also Paradisan Ladder from higher-tier items already infused with it. A Common Sword upgraded with Paradisan Ladder, for example, will return some upon deconstruction at a workbench. Check merchant inventories for unique items with Paradisan Ladder listed in their deconstruction details.
Downgrading Hylea’s Talon Into Paradisan Ladder
Once you reach Emerald Stair and acquire Hylea’s Talon, you can downgrade each unit into three Paradisan Ladder at your party camp workbench. Navigate to the "Crafting" tab, then switch to the downgrade section. This is particularly useful for quickly upgrading different weapons.
By utilizing these methods, players can effectively manage their Paradisan Ladder supply and optimize their character builds.
