Pokemon GO Reveals New Gigantamax Debut Coming in Future Event

Summary

  • Gigantamax Kingler makes its Pokémon GO debut on February 1st during the Max Battle Day event.
  • Players can utilize Max Mushrooms to significantly boost battle damage.
  • Event bonuses include increased Max Particle collection limits, expanded Power Spot battles, and enhanced XP rewards.

Pokémon GO announced the exciting arrival of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1st! Last year's highly anticipated Dynamax and Gigantamax update revolutionized Pokémon GO, and since then, the developers have steadily expanded the roster of available Gigantamax Pokémon. Gigantamax, a powerful Dynamax form, not only increases a Pokémon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and grants unique G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Gigantamax-capable Pokémon, Pokémon GO currently boasts only six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the most recent addition. This number is about to increase significantly, as a new event has been confirmed.

Gigantamax Kingler will debut in Pokémon GO on February 1st during Max Battle Day. This event, running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, will feature the Water-type Pokémon in six-star Max Battles, offering players the chance to encounter a Shiny Gigantamax Kingler. To enhance their battle performance, players can strategically employ Max Mushrooms, the temporary damage-boosting item for Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

Max Battle Day is one of February's exciting events, but not the only one. Niantic recently announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29th to February 1st. While Gigantamax Kingler won't appear during the Lunar New Year event, players can still look forward to other thrilling events, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19th and the imminent arrival of more Galar Pokémon in the coming days.
