Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak: A Closer Look at the Next-Gen Controller

Recent online leaks suggest we're getting a clearer picture of the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers. While the Switch continues to see releases into 2025, speculation about its successor is intensifying, especially given Nintendo's confirmed announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. With a rumored March 2025 launch, leaks regarding the Switch 2's specs and features are becoming increasingly prevalent.

New images, originating from a Chinese social media platform and shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit by user SwordfishAgile3472, offer the clearest look yet at the Switch 2 Joy-Cons. The images focus on the back and side of a left Joy-Con, showcasing key design elements.

Magnetic Connection and Color Scheme:

The leaked photos seemingly confirm the rumored magnetic connection system for the Joy-Cons. This replaces the rail-based system of the original Switch, using magnetic fields instead of physical contact. The color scheme appears to be a familiar blue and black combination, although the primary color seems to be black, with blue accents visible on the side.

Revised Button Layout:

The images also provide a glimpse of the revised button layout. Noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons are present, along with a third, unlabeled button on the back. Speculation suggests this third button might be used to release the magnetic connection between the Joy-Cons and the console.

Consistency with Previous Leaks:

These leaked Joy-Con images align with other circulating leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console, further bolstering their credibility. However, until Nintendo provides official confirmation, these details remain unverified. The anticipation builds as the official reveal draws nearer.
