Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their acclaimed sandbox game, Teardown. They've announced the introduction of a much-anticipated multiplayer mode, alongside the launch of a new expansion called the Folkrace DLC. This expansion will enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events, earn rewards, and personalize their vehicles to excel on the tracks.
The multiplayer feature will initially be available through Steam’s Experimental Branch, allowing players to get early access and provide valuable feedback. Tuxedo Labs is particularly keen on hearing from the modding community, as the game's API will be updated to support the adaptation of existing mods for multiplayer use.
The developers have shared that integrating multiplayer has been a long-term goal and a top request from the Teardown community. This announcement signifies the fulfillment of that vision.
Upon its debut, the multiplayer mode will be accessible via the "Experimental" branch on Steam, giving players a chance to experience the new mode firsthand. Concurrently, Tuxedo Labs will roll out API updates to modders, ensuring seamless integration of existing mods into multiplayer settings. After a successful testing phase, multiplayer will become a permanent fixture in the game.
Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs teased that two more significant DLCs are currently in development, with more details slated for release later in 2025.
