Techland is pushing the envelope with Dying Light 2 by introducing Tower Raid, an exciting new mode inspired by roguelite games. This mode, which has undergone extensive testing, is now fully integrated into the game, offering players a novel way to navigate the post-apocalyptic landscape teeming with infected.
In Tower Raid, players step away from the familiar character Aiden Caldwell and instead embody one of four unique warriors, each representing a different combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. These characters come with distinct abilities that encourage varied strategies and cooperative play. For thrill-seekers, the mode supports scaling down team sizes, or even braving the tower solo for an ultimate test of skill.
The mode is structured with three difficulty settings—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each altering the challenge and duration of your run. Thanks to procedurally generated environments, every climb up the tower presents new floor layouts and enemy encounters, making adaptability crucial for survival.
To keep the gameplay engaging, Techland has implemented a new progression system. Every unsuccessful run contributes to unlocking new abilities and weapons, progressively enhancing the player's chances on subsequent attempts. Deep within the tower, players can meet Sola, a mysterious merchant offering exclusive rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those who prove their prowess.
Even as Techland gears up for the release of Dying Light: The Beast, the company pledges ongoing support for Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Future updates promise enhanced co-op features, better matchmaking, an expanded community map, new characters for Tower Raid, additional melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical upgrades.
