The best strategy is to fortify your plot with defensive structures, but if needed, you can also evade threats by running around the world until the danger subsides. Each time you survive a wave, you earn a "Win" and in-game currency, which are crucial for progressing in the game. Keep an eye on the screen messages, and your main goal should be to avoid death.
… dying is completely normal
Don't fret if you meet an untimely end in *Build Defense*. Death is a common occurrence, and its consequences are minimal. Upon dying, you'll respawn immediately, lose your current items, and fail the current wave, but these setbacks are easily overcome. You can repurchase your weapons and items, and your structures remain intact. Another wave will come every two minutes, giving you another chance to succeed. Essentially, you only lose a bit of time, which isn't a significant setback.
Build high, not low
Initially, building a perimeter wall around your plot might seem like a solid defense strategy, but it's not very effective due to the need for entry and exit points that monsters can exploit. A more successful approach is to construct a tall staircase leading to a high platform. When night falls, retreat to this elevated sanctuary. Monsters attempting to climb will often fall, and any that reach the top can be easily dispatched with a series of turrets. This high-altitude setup is nearly foolproof and will help you endure most nights.
Don’t just build, explore!
Beyond your plot, *Build Defense* offers a wealth of activities. You can visit other players, trade ores, and embark on various quests. While some quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, others, like the Gingerbread's House quest, are immediately accessible.
