Exciting news emerged from Star Wars Celebration: Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his iconic role as Anakin Skywalker in Season 2 of the Ahsoka series. While details about Anakin's role remain under wraps, fans are thrilled to know that Ahsoka's journey with her former master is far from over.
Christensen made a special appearance at the Ahsoka panel during the event, expressing his enthusiasm about returning to the character. "It was a dream to get to do," he remarked. "The way they conceived how to do it was brilliant in getting to explore the World Between Worlds. I thought it was all really exciting."
Ahsoka series creator Dave Filoni humorously shared that he had to create entire dimensions just to bring Christensen back as Anakin. "I had to invent entire dimensions to make it happen," Filoni quipped.
Christensen also delved into the discussions he had with the team about Anakin's activities during the Clone Wars. "All of this had been presented well in the animated world, but I was really excited to do that in live action," he said. "As much as I love the traditional Jedi robes I wore during the prequels, it was exciting to get to see Anakin with a new look."
Later, Filoni elaborated on how their previous collaboration with George Lucas helped shape their approach to Anakin's return. This shared history allowed them to fill in gaps and create a comprehensive portrayal of the character. "I always have George's voice in the back of my head saying, 'faster, more intense!'" Christensen added, echoing Lucas's famous directive.
